SMS Consent Policy

Last updated: 4/3/2025

1. How We Obtain Consent

We collect explicit consumer consent through the following methods:

  • Sign Up Consent: When a user provides their phone number during account creation, they must accept terms of service which includes consent to receive SMS messages. The registered user will then receive an opt-in message from our authentication provider. Users can reply with "STOP" to opt out.
  • Initial SMS Communication: When we send your first SMS message, we include the following text: "You are receiving messages from Eventurely on behalf of [Sender Name]. Reply YES to receive updates. Reply STOP to opt out."
  • Explicit Opt-in via SMS: Users can reply with "YES" to explicitly consent to receive further communications.
  • Online Registration: When providing a phone number during event registration or account creation, users are informed about our SMS communications and consent is recorded.

2. How Our Consent System Works

Our SMS consent management system works as follows:

  • All SMS consent records are stored securely in our database with timestamps, phone numbers, and consent status.
  • Before sending any SMS message, our system automatically checks if the recipient has consented to receive messages.
  • If no prior consent record exists, the first message includes our consent language and the recipient is added to our database with implied consent.
  • Every SMS message we send includes "Reply STOP to unsubscribe" at the end of the message.
  • If a user has previously opted out (by replying "STOP"), no messages will be sent to that number and any attempted messages will be marked as "UNSUBSCRIBED" in our system.

3. What Consumers Are Consenting To

By opting in, consumers acknowledge and agree to:

  • Receive SMS and text messages from Eventurely regarding events, updates, & reminders.
  • Message frequency varies based on event activity and notifications settings.
  • Standard messaging and data rates may apply per their mobile carrier's terms.
  • The ability to opt out at any time by replying "STOP."

4. How We Process Responses

Our system automatically processes user responses:

  • When a user replies "YES" to any of our messages, our system records their explicit consent.
  • When a user replies "STOP" to any of our messages, our system immediately updates their consent status to prevent further messages from being sent.
  • These responses are processed through a secure webhook that updates our consent database in real-time.

5. How Users Can Withdraw Consent

Consumers can opt out of SMS communications at any time by:

  • Replying with "STOP" to any message received.
  • Contacting our customer support at support@eventurely.net.
  • Managing communication preferences through their online account settings (if applicable).

Upon receiving an opt-out request, we promptly update our records to ensure no further messages are sent to the consumer's phone number.

6. Compliance and Updates

We comply with all applicable regulations, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), CTIA Messaging Principles, and Twilio's Acceptable Use Policy. This SMS Consent Policy is subject to updates, and any significant changes will be communicated to consumers through our website or messaging service.

For any questions regarding this policy, please contact us at info@eventurely.net.
